The aim of the Graduate Program in Sciences – Biochemistry of the Federal University of Paraná is to produce highly skilled scientists able to conduct basic and applied research in Biochemistry, Molecular and Structural Biology for Universities, Research Centers and Companies. This well-consolidated Program was created in 1965 and since then it has been evaluated with high scores by CAPES, the Brazilian Federal Agency for Graduation Programs, offering specialized training in those areas. Over the years our Program has reached excellency in areas such as Structure of Carbohydrates, Pharmacological Biochemistry and Biochemistry of Microorganisms including several laboratories internationally recognized, and our students have been recruited by Universities and industries both from Brazil and abroad. Thirty-one advisors supervise Master and PhD graduate studies and the admission process includes a test on General Biochemistry for masters and CV analysis.
