APPLICATIONS FOR ENROLLMENT IN ISOLATED STUDY COURSES AT PPGQ/UFPR
.
In specific cases as defined by the Internal Rules of the Program, it is possible for interested persons to apply for enrollment in isolated study courses at PPGQ/UFPR. This possibility is open to potential applicants who fulfill one of the following demands:
.
      (i) have obtained a Bachelor’s or equivalent academic/professional degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences or other Chemistry related area;
        (ii) are regularly enrolled in the last year of an undergraduate course in the areas specified above;
      (iii) are regularly-enrolled MSc or PhD students of other Stricto Sensu Post-graduate Programs at UFPR or other higher education institution.
.
Before applying, the potential student should check the list of study courses offered in the required academic term, which is published shortly before the enrollment period (see http://www.prppg.ufpr.br/ppgquimica/en/disciplinas/todas-as-disciplinas/). The applicant can then choose (usually one or two courses) among them and request the enrollment in the period specified in the academic calendar (http://www.prppg.ufpr.br/ppgquimica/en/calendario/datas-importantes/).
.
Applications for isolated study courses must to be approved by the PPGQ’s Board of Graduate Studies. In this sense, it is necessary that the applicant fill in the form presented in the following link, and justify his/her request. In general, the justification should mention the desire for qualification and the intention to formally attend the master’s (or doctorate) Program soon. If the applicant has already established contact with a possible PPGQ research advisor and intends to submit himself/herself to the next selection process for the MSc or PhD Programs in Chemistry, this information should be given in the justification.
.
After filling in the required form, the applicant should come to our Chemistry Department at UFPR, during the enrollment period, and talk to at least one of the teachers of the chosen study course(s), in order to confirm the availability of places.
.
After the end of the study course, and in case the applicant passes the necessary examinations, the PPGQ/UFPR Secretariat will issue (on request) a statement of the student’s results. This document can be used later to request the validation of the credits when starting the MSc or PhD degree as a regular student, either at UFPR or another higher education institution.
