The Graduate Program in Chemistry at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), namely PPGQ, is located in the Department of Chemistry (DQUI), and its mission is to train human resources for the exercise of teaching and research activities in Chemistry. The PPGQ offers courses at two levels, Doctorate and Academic Masters, in the areas of Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. Specifically, the PPGQ/UFPR aims to:

1. 1. Contribute to the training of human resources and to the improvement of the research infrastructure in Chemistry at UFPR, in the areas of Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Physical Chemistry, within the Program’s research lines and in accordance with the qualification of its faculty;
   2. Qualify Chemistry professionals capable of acting in a balanced and competent manner in High School and Higher Education, reconciling the technical-scientific, social and human aspects of educational training;
   3. Train personnel capable of working in highly qualified R&D activities in the country’s industrial park, as well as in universities and institutes in which scientific and technological research is developed, whether basic or applied;
   4. Train Masters and PhDs in Chemistry whose professional activities generate innovation, knowledge, materials and techniques that positively impact the productivity of agricultural and industrial processes, solve social and environmental problems, with consequent economic and quality of life gains for the population of the State of Paraná and Brazil
